GridION_Mk1
GridION X5 is a compact benchtop system from Oxford Nanopore Technology. It is designed to run and analyse up to five MinION Flow Cells.
It is ideal for labs with multiple projects that need the advantages of nanopore sequencing: simple library preparation, real-time analysis and new biological insights from long reads. The GridION X5 allows up to five experiments to be run concurrently or individually; users may choose to use as much or as little of this total resource as they need at any one time.
The old system with Model GRD-X5B002 and SN:GXB10373 is replaced with GridION Mk1 - GRD-X5B003 and SN: GXB03401 (Received on 15th Sep 2021).

The Multinet is deployed with all net bags closed and the water flowing freely through the frame. The instrument can be lowered with high speed to the greatest desired depth. It can either be operated by use of communication cable and deck unit and nets can be opened manually or it can be used off-line by pre-programming it as described below. All measuring data are stored inside the internal data memory during the operation and can be read out by a PC when the Multinet is back on board.

The gravity corer is the standard coring system that consists of a head weight (1.5 t) connected to a variable number of 3 m long steel barrels (diameter 12 cm). Plastic tubes are inserted into the barrels and are attached to these by a core catcher fitted inside the end of the lowest barrel.
